This module expects students to think critically about issues in this and several other plays. Among other things Flyin’ West deals with racial and ethnic diversity and encourages students to develop arguments for alternative actions that the characters might have taken to address the problems they are faced with. It encourages groups of students to collaborate on answers to questions posed by the Instructor, thus testing their ability to communicate their ideas collectively.

2. Critique the rationale for the murder in this work and compare it with that in Trifles and eventually that in Split Second
3. Compare the arguments made for the empowerment of women in this play and in Trifles and Queen's Garden, Real Women and Rez Sisters.
